father's day

i was treated with a full weekend for father's day this year, filled with a mix of rain and sunshine, camp fire in the backyard, fishing, golfing, and attempts at boating.....

i wish i had taken a few more pictures, but alas.....   below you see a couple of eliot and kyertin during our fishing outing.  my dad (steve), nate (the boys' step-dad), kyertin, eliot, and myself all went out fishing saturday morning.  we were greeted with a bit of rain, but that didn't stop us, nor the fish from biting.  eliot caught the most fish (about 10), and kyertin caught the biggest (just to keep the brotherly competition interesting).

sunday i golfed with my dad who showed me up by one stroke after i trash talked him up for two or three days prior.  he put me in my place on the last hole by sinking a putt from the rough for the win!  the victory was well-deserved and extremely well-played.  it was a fantastic round.  ryan and tanner joined us as well, and ryan and i took home the team victory that day.  i was amazed at how well tanner played.  he is going to be a fantastic golfer if he sticks with it.

later in the day kellie, the kids, and i tried go boating but were turned away by rain after sitting it out for an hour and a half in halsted bay.  we eventually went home and watched apollo 13 with the kids instead.

a day for the books......   i'm a very, very lucky father........
