cache in - trash out

saturday was full of fun-filled family festivities....  we began our morning by throwing together some breakfast sandwiches and then heading off to our local forest hills park to pick up trash.  eden prairie was holding its annual park clean up day, and oddly enough, we were the only family who had signed up for our closest park!

so there we were, the oborns versus forest hills park trash.  and we hit that park like a tornado carrying a trash bag.  but we were surprised at how clean the park was.  we've been to quite a few places to clean up trash, and this was by far the cleanest park/area we've been to.  this park is connected to the elementary school that the boys will be attending next year, and the best we can figure is that the kids at the school do regular clean-up because between four family members carrying bags, none of us had to grab a second.

after park clean-up we were off to french regional park to meet the skerbitz's for a little play date/geocaching extravaganza.  it was a fantastic afternoon in all respects.  we found six caches, and the kids had an inevitably enjoyable time at the climbing complex at the park.

when you're having fun, why stop?  right?  well exactly....  so we decided to head to the skerbitz's after we were tired out at the park, and had dinner together (country style ribs, beans, broccoli), followed by bedtime for the kiddos, and a movie plus dessert for the adults (carol made a pan of delicious chocolate brownies).  well actually, bill and i watched spaceballs while carol priced items for a garage sale and kellie and raina slept on the couch (i think kellie made it 10 minutes into the movie, which was actually longer than i had anticipated :)

it was a packed saturday, not a moment wasted, but one for the books.........
